Roundwoods

Roundwoods has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The property is owned by an interior designer and she has lovingly sourced many things from various places. The stone floors are from York, the lights were found on a trip to Poland and the ecclectic mix of restored, reclaimed and bespoke furniture pieces all create a beautifully simple, rusic and “back to the simple things in life” feel to the house. That said, technology and home comforts are still present with underfloor heating, a large LCD tv with freeview, a Playstation, a dvd player and broadband.

Entrance

The entrance has a great little boot room area which also houses the washing machine.

Kitchen/ Diner/ Lounge

This is a large open plan family space. The kitchen has a butler sink, open cupboards and a large range cooker. There is a retro fridge and a large pantry cupboard. Next to this is the dining table for four. Round the corner is the lounge area with a comfy sofa to sink into in front of the tv. There are some other occasional chairs and benches around the room and books, rugs and lamps. A woodburner stove is perfect for cosy evenings. There are large doors the full length of the room that open onto the veranda and allow the garden to become part of the house almost!

The First Floor

The first floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom. Both have double beds. The master bedroom has Velux windows so you can lie in bed gazing at the stars. This room is big enough for the futon mattresses f two children want to sleep on the floor.

The second bedroom is along the corridor and is a small room with a double bed.

The bathroom has Victorian roll top bath and a large walk in shower.

Please note there is a small third room which is kept locked as a storage room.

The gardens of Roundwood are magical! With wooded areas, a vegetable patch, a big fire pit where you can enjoy a evening sitting around a camp fire with a barbeque and the most wonderful tree house with its own wood burning stove…*There is a deep pond and also a natural pond so this property is not suitable for young children *or for dogs who are inclined to get wet and soggy!

• Bed linen and towels are provided. If you wish to use the futon mattresses you will need to bring your own bed linen and bedding.

There is so much to see and do in Brighton and Hove and in the surrounding Sussex countryside.
There are lots of National Trust properties and beautiful gardens.

Brighton

For the ultimate in shopping visit over 350 independent traders in the North Laines in Brighton where you are able to browse fantastic little quirky shops with lots of “not on the high street” goods! Or if you prefer Churchill Square has a large shopping centre with all the usual big name stores.

Places to Visit & Places to Eat

Brighton is overflowing with places to visit. Being such a compact city, most places in Brighton and Hove are walkable. There is also an excellent bus service that can take you anywhere in Brighton and Hove.

Volks Railway

Opened in 1883, Volk’s Electric Railway is the ‘world’s oldest operating electric railway’. The brainchild of inventor Magnus Volk the railway runs for just over a mile along Brighton seafront between Aquarium (for Brighton Pier) and Black Rock (for the Marina).

Brighton Pier

Free to enter, plenty of rides for children and adults alike. Several shops and cafes to get food. There are great views back to the brighton skyline.

Middle Farm

Come and meet our friendly chickens, ducks, spotted pigs and donkeys. Don’t miss our playful rabbits and guinea pigs. There are timed events throughout the day, including our prize-winning pedigree Jersey cows being milked each afternoon.
